Comments on select photos: photos 5, 7, 12, 14, 18: all taken of the sea from Ile de Goree; photos 6, 10, 17, 19: the Slave House, the most important landmark on the land; photos 20-21: colors of Goree; photo15: Tim being serenaded by a singer playing the kora (Tim, oh Tim, sa-laam mal-le-kum, oh Tim).

Jensen family visit, day two.

We were up early and off to Ile de Goree, meeting Almamy at the ferry terminal in time enough to catch the first ferry over. Once on Goree we rendezvoused with Almamy's friend and Goree expert Laity, who guided around the island.

For ISDers, you'll recognize the high-topper and sock in photo 22 as belonging to Selma S., who spent the day with us.

The following clips offer a few of the day's highlights: clip1 clip2 clip3 clip4 clip5 clip6 clip7
