Dakar: Then & Now

These two images are from a terrific resource, The United Nations Environmental Programme's Africa Atlas of our Changing Environment, the entirety of which is available on-line at
http://www.unep.org/dewa/africa/AfricaAtlas/
which profiles environmental change in over 100 locations across Africa, including 300 satellite images, 300 ground photographs, and 150 maps.

Dakar has seen tremendous growth over the past 20 years, and it continues.  There are luxury hotels being constructed all along the coast, from the Plateau (where downtown Dakar is located) all the way north to the Almadies.  Reflecting this growth, the International School has recently purchased a new parcel of land, and is this week hosting an architectural firm helping us to clarify our vision for future expansion.
