A Tour of Three Daara (Koranic Schools) With The Israeli Ambassador 1

The Israeli Embassy in Senegal is developing a pilot project to install school gardens at each of ten Koranic schools, called daara, in the area of Touba. The aim of the project is to share some of the Israelis agricultural experience and expertise with rural villages attempting to farm in increasingly nutrient-depleted soils.

The Israel Ambassador, Gideon Behar, invited me along to visit several of the daara, accompanied by his three sons (two of whom are in middle school at ISD) and wife Eke. Note video highlights of this excursion at clip1 clip2 clip3 clip4 clip5 clip6 clip7 clip8 clip9 clip10.
